Rough Day

Z had the day off school yesterday.  He didn't like that T still had to go to work.  The kids basically spent all but two hours out of the day screaming.  It was awesome terrible.  We got to go on a nice long walk.  It was one of our peaceful hours.  They asked to face each, & talked the whole time.

One of our neighbor's cats was wandering about, & decided to join us on our walk.  He went about a block with us before turning back to his house.  But, not before trying to hop in the stroller with the kids.

A thinks everything is a hat.  I swear, she'll put just about anything on her head.

Z had to sit just like Dada during snack time.

Overall, it was a pretty crapy day.  Thank goodness today was better.

We'll be participating in the kids clothes week challenge this year.  Come join in on the fun!  If you don't have kids, you can sew something for mine.  Head over to elsiemarley to sign up.

Yet Another Bug Post

I feel like all of my posts are about bugs.  But, we've been finding a lot of them around the yard.  Today was an especially rough day with the kids. We went out for lunch in hopes of turning things around, & when we got home, we had a little friend waiting on the front door.

The kids went nuts over him.  He was massive.  At least three inches long.  A kept waving to him saying, "hi."  She also growled at him a few times at him when I told her not to scare him.

I attempted to get a picture of both kids smiling.  That never happens.  I'm lucky just to get one with both of them looking at the camera.  A decided that hugs were in order, but Z wasn't having it.

I promise our whole life doesn't revolve around bugs.

While the Cat is Away, the Mice Will Play

T was out of town for a few days this week, & Z was very out of sorts about it.  Z off his normal sleep schedule = BAD BAD BAD!!!  It made for very long days with no relief.  By Friday things were getting much better.  We had our breakfast on the front porch before taking Z to school.  I love doing little things like that with the kids.  They really have a blast switching things up every now & then.  Auntie J visited a few weeks ago, & brought this cute little dress that she made for A.  It looks so sweet on her!

We're still working on sharing with A.

At a stop sign, on our way to the store, Z spotted this little hole.  He yelled from the back seat, "Look!! A mouse's home!!"  He could barely contain his excitement.  So, we had to pull over to take a picture.

After the store, we headed home.  Z found a bag of "spicy chips" which signaled the end of a healthy snack.  A, being the goofball that she is, had to do this:

It's not a party till someone puts a bag of chips on their head...

I'm glad T is finally home again.  It's been a long week.
